Oldest Home In Redondo Beach

Updated: Jul 24, 2022

With the Mediterranean Riviera as his muse, this historically significant home was built in 1928 by Clifford Reid, visionary developer of the Hollywood Riviera. The architect/builder was Mark Daniels, credited with many classic LA homes.

Artisans from around the world were assembled to create this architectural masterpiece, from roofers hand-molding tiles, to inlaid glass experts, iron workers, wood carvers and artists masterfully hand painting ceilings. This hand-worked house has beautiful ocean views and majestically rests on three lots.

Affectionately restored over two years, the original grandeur and elegance were brought back while upgrading the systems to accommodate modern needs. The entryway sets the tone with a solid marble statue, original handmade imported Italian tile flooring, hand finished plaster walls simulating cut stone and Baccarat chandelier.

The new kitchen & bathrooms were gloriously renovated, while maintaining the elegance of this pedigreed estate. The enriching experience continues with hand-hewn, hand-painted ceiling beams, original hand-made rugs & front lawn fountain imported from Florence dating back to the late 1700’s. Adorned with custom draperies & bedding, and furnished with antique pieces (many from the 1700’s or older) and newer hand-made pieces curated over decades.

Whether in the library, living room, formal dining room, breakfast room or enchanting sun-room, the rich colors of this historical jewel come to life with cinematic brilliance.
